Spin City hows everything going? I got to ask even tho i know where you from the general public has to know. SPIN CITY: whats good chilling just working on keeping myself really busy you know want to stay on top of my craft. im from astoria queens that 2705 first street, twin building lol ALLOUTMUSIC: lol damn anything else you want to throw in there lol So, what are your thoughts on the current state of the game? SPIN CITY: hip hop is not the same music is not the same, music keeps changing like the seasons and artist are doing more mixtapes then albums and im talking about big name artist dropping mixtapes not saying they not selling but they want to keep their name out there. I think its hard for new artist to come out because labels is still trying to still make money off big name artist so why would they chance it with a new artist. new artist is another word for chance if you not working into the labels with a buzz already they really not going invest in you until you have a hit or you on a hit. ALLOUTMUSIC: Who influenced your style? SPIN CITY: oh man, I have to say my dude silencio he the one that influence me to get involve in the music game. I remember coming to his house and he would have a little studio set up with a computer mic,cd burner, a yellow sony radio with one speak lol and we would rock off tones of instrumentals and I would say crazy things that I didn't have a care in the world. i really took it serious when I went back and heard Jay-z reasonable doubt, Biggie Ready To Die and so on. ALLOUTMUSIC:How do you separate yourself from other artists? SPIN CITY: I try to relate to people and now sell them a life style in the music I make music to true life events girl problems,family problems,life problems and good things I never want to leave a song on a negative note. now im more careful with the words i chose. artist now they get a crazy beat put a stupid hook and they happen just so they can get radio play and a video so they buy twitter followers,youtube views,facebook friends you buying your career your craft is fake are your marketing. you look at my network its all under 10,000 I want to build a fan base from my hard work not the money ALLOUTMUSIC: SO YOU DID HOT 97'S SUMMER JAM AND 106 AND PARK HOW WAS THAT? SPIN CITY: aww man it was amazing a lot of people a lot of network summer jam backstage was not peaches and cream that shit was the hole lol there was no bathroom no food nothing it was like you lucky to be here lol but it was something a lot of artist wish they can be at and I took it as it was the greatest moment in my life I love it i met alot of artist that I hear on the radio and had to chance to talk to some legends so that was cool. and 106 was cool but we having a little problems with the taping so that is still pending at the moment I hope we can get that resolve asap ALLOUTMUSIC: Who do you want to work with in the future? SPIN CITY: I really want to work with Jeremiah, Ne-yo, Meek Mills, Ace Hood, theres more but I can't think of right now but I want to work with everybody really hip hop has so many different genres its really hard for me to pin point one style and stay with it. ALLOUTMUSIC: NOW YOU STARTED OUT WITH NEW MONEY WAS THAT A TEAM OR WAS ARTIST AS A LABEL AND THEN YA ALL SPLIT UP, WHAT WENT WRONG? SPIN CITY: No, we wasn't a team we was a label everybody was all solo artist we just need joint projects to help get the next artist project ready. I remember we use to go to the studio and knock out about 7 to 10 songs a day about 3 to 4 days a week. I really dont know why we split up but it wasn't on bad terms Daylight started his on things, Envy and Fresh fell back from it and SIC really no sure I still got love for them but music is my passion my joy my happiness so I can't stop because a couple of people not backing me up. Im a grown man at the end of the day everything i got music or in life I got it by myself. ALLOUTMUSIC: SO, AS A THE ONLY MEMBER ON HIS OWN LABEL DO YOU FIND IT HARD TO HANDLE THINGS WITH OUT THE HELP OF OTHERS? SPIN CITY: To be honest I me being by myself I get way more stuff done I did more stuff being solo depending on me and just keeping myself on top of my game. I do shows dolo,interviews,music etc I network better when im speaking for myself. RIGHT NOW THE ALBUM IS IN A GREAT SPACE IT SOUND GOOD JUST WORKING ON THE BEHIND SCENES NOW GETTING IT READY ALLOUTMUSIC: DO YOU FIND IT MORE PRESSURE COMING OFF A CD(THE CITY LIFE) DOING OVER 15K DOWNLOADS IN 3 MONTHS?
